Felilah looked at the withered bud that barely held to its wilted stem. A strong gust of wind could have blown it off. “You say this is a Rose of Ulasis?”

“Yes,” the knight in dirty armour started, “journeyed through fire and ice just for you to have it,” He wiped his brow, “I… it might have lost some of its sheen along the way.”

Felilah looked at the men after him in polished steel with bouquets of blood red roses in their hands. “What about them?”

“They are knights in shining armour, their mettle has not been truly tested.”
